2. When we listen to Taylor Swift’s song “Love story” we can see how she uses allusion in a very good way. Everyone of us will remember school plays that are based on Shakespeare’s characters. One famous play is Romeo and Juliet. We can remember quickly and can easily define a relationship between the two characters in the play. We know that their relationship is a forbidden one, so when Taylor Swift’s song lyric lines say “you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbled/and my daddy said ‘Stay away from Juliet’ “ we know for sure that the song is about a relationship that has no parents’ approval.

3. Examples of allusions

-mythological: “Achilles heel”

Sentence: “My father was a shrewd business man and investor, but his Achilles heel was Gambling.”

Sentence: “They ask the readers of their books to always think out of the box. Always think beyond what is known.”
